The Reds started today's game on a very small windy pitch playing 6 aside missing Luca who was away this weekend.

The boys started really well with Ben & Oscar seeing a lot of the ball trying to start attacks at every opportunity. Rossendale did get a chance against the run of play but Alfie was on alert coming off his line to save.

The 1st goal came with a goal straight from training with Alf rolling to Ben, Ben to Conn, Conn to Ruben, and a nice finish 1-0 and well deserved. The boys continued to dominate possession and Conn twice put Ruben & Roan crosses into the box that the boys didn't convert. The second goal would come just before the break with another Ruben goal after winning possession on the right. 2-0 at halftime was well deserved and more of the same  was requested at half time.

Now the second half started like the 1st with the Reds dominating and Ruben having a trio of chances which the Rossendale keeper did well to keep out. The opposition did have a chance which we somehow scrambled away before Ruben put us 3 up for his treble and seemingly out of sight.

Fair play to Rossendale they did put us under pressure in the last 10 minutes grabbing 2 goals and making Alf make a couple more saves. We could and should have finished the game with a Ruben 4th and Roan chance which he managed to hit over the bar and the 30foot fence behind...... However we held on to win 3-2.

Special mention and well done to Alfie this week. Since volunteering for goalkeeper back in September he has never let us down, never moaned when at times he has barely touched the ball. He has shown a great attitude, improved his distribution with a calmer approach to his passing and been a real team player. I do miss his late tackles that last season did upset a few opponents but we do still to get to see them in training. Well done!!
