Upcoming Matches & Training Sessions

This weeks game was played 7 v 7 making my life much easier not having to worry about subs. Chadderton Dragons were our opponents who the boys played a few weeks ago winning 2-1 so we knew today's match would be a tight affair.

Straight from KO the boys were on the attack and scored within moments with Roan finishing from close range after a good move down the left. Luca then had a chance to make it 2-0 but the Chadderton keeper saved well. The game fizzled out towards half time with boys teams not giving much away in midfield. Halftime 1-0.

Second half started and the boys started to play with some neat passing creating chances for Ruben, Con & Roan before Con had another shot come back off the post. On another day it would have been 3 or 4    nil and game over but fair play to Chadderton they kept going and grabbed a leveller before having a chance to win. 1-1 at full time.

Now with penalties to be played for the second week running I did fear the worst but fortunately this week was our turn to have the joy of a win. 4-3 on penalties after Alf had saved 2 of the Chadderton 5. Well done Alfie.

Overall not our best display, not due to lack of effort, just a scrappy game that failed to get going on a very large pitch. The team can be pleased with the effort and enjoy the feeling of a penalty shoot out win which has been long overdue.
